The dust Dab Sample is used to analyse dust deposits, contaminated with asbestos. The test is applicable, e.g. for the detection of contamination in rooms or buildings in which asbestos fibres were set free through handling asbestos products. For the examination with the help of a scanning electron microscope, the samples are taken directly with a graphitic and a double faced adhesive tape prepared test disc by dabbing the contaminated surface.

The sampling
Suitable surfaces for the sample-taking are surfaces on which the dust has settled undisturbed for a long time. Particularly suitable deposits are those containing microscopic dust with no fluff balls. In case of a thick dust layers, the dust can be removed directly without using the dab sample and the testing of the material can be carried out. For the sampling using the Dab Sample, the protection-foil on the test disc has to be pulled off and the adhesive surface has to be pressed on the dusty surface. For the dispatch the Dab Sample has to be inserted in the provided tube.
